Come out and join us for our first Fall Trail Ride! To be followed by lunch for those that can stay. Our plan is to meet at 8:30am and be on the trails by 9am. We are scouting out the perfect Class VI Roads here in the Lakes Region to accomplish our mission of fun, mud and fellowship. These trails will be Green to Blue level of difficulty. Not sure what that means? Think of your favorite ski mountain and the color coding system for ski trails (Green = Beginner, Blue = Moderate). We will finish the trails around 12pm and for those that can stay, we will head to eat lunch and enjoy some beverages while telling tales of the morning’s adventure.
Requirements: 2 recovery points on your vehicle (tow hooks), Full Size Spare, Weather appropriate footwear and outerwear, 1st aid kit (1 per vehicle), full tank of gas/diesel, water, GAIA or oNX Offroad GPS mapping software (in new model Defenders it works with Apple CarPlay), understanding of the “Tread Lightly” principles and acceptance of only running legal roads/trails, willingness to spot and or assist fellow members over challenging terrain during the ride.
Suggestions: Recovery gear (ropes, straps, soft shackles, winch, tree savor, come-along, snatch block), GMRS Radio (If you do not have a GMRS and are looking to get one, remember you need to purchase a Federal FCC License to operate one, you will be assigned an “official” handle by the US Govt.), Hi-Lift Jack, Chain Saw, Work Gloves, sun screen, bug spray and anything else you think you will need for the weather on the trails.
*Vehicle Notes: Stock Defenders will be ok as long as you have a minimum of All Terrain Tires and good ground clearance. For those that have Defender II’s and an air suspension we will make sure to walk you through using the off-road setting, as well as using specific traction control settings, hill descent when needed and more.
